An exhaustive list of frameworks I refer to when structuring and solving problems in a broad spectrum of areas like data science, product management, strategy and mental health

1-2-4-All

The idea of 1-2-4-all is that you continue to build up from individual reflection into group reflection until you collectively discuss the highlights. You choose a particular topic, issue or idea on which you reflect as an individual. Then you discuss in pairs, after which you discuss it in groups of 4. After this, you will come together with the entire group and each group will share the highlights in plenary. You can find more about it in this blogpost

ACT

ACT stands for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and it uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies that help people embrace and make negative feelings useless instead of aimlessly trying to kill them. You can find additional info here

CBT

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that involves writing things down in a process of detachment and catharsis.

GTD

Getting Things Done is a personal productivity and time management system developed by David Allen and published in a book of the same name.

MECE

MECE stands for Mutually Exclusive Collectively Exhaustive and it is a widely used framework at MBB firms to tackle problems in a structured way so that subproblems don’t overlaps and form a partition. You can find more here

Pareto Principle (80:20 Rule)

The idea behind the 80:20 rule is that 80% of the results come from 20% of the work. More formally, 80% of the effects, come from 20% of the causes. The origin of this idea came from Vincent Pareto who discovered that 80% of the land in Italy, was owned by 20% of the people. Of course, the exact percentage doesn’t always hold up, but the application of this idea is to prioritize and focus on the relevant things.
